Juicing into the New Year Giveaway
with Breville
I have been doing lots of research on juicers since I want to begin juicing this year. I just don’t eat enough vegetables, especially green leafy ones during the winter. So I think drinking them will be a huge benefit to my body! I was looking for a juicer that didn’t break the bank and yet was very very good with leafy greens.
Are you wondering what a masticating juicer is?
There are two main types of juicers, centrifugal juicers and slow (or masticating) juicers.
Centrifugal juicers work by shredding the fruits and vegetables and spin at high speed to separate the pulp and juice.
Slow or masticating juicers crush and grind the fruits and vegetables to extract the juice, then filter out the pulp. They’re called slow juicers because they don’t spin rapidly, but they still only takes minutes to produce juice! Slow juicers produce drier pulp than centrifugal juicers, and extract more juice from leafy greens like kale. A slow juicer tends to be less frothy. And we are giving away one Breville BJS600XL Fountain Crush Masticating Slow Juicer! You can read more about the Breville BJS600XL Fountain Crush Masticating Slow Juicer HERE. This Breville Juicer retails for $599!

I have been living off a student loan/part-time employment and wouldn’t be able to afford a quality juicer. I had invested in a cheap centrifuge that started sparking when I would run carrots/ anything leafy through… (even though there are people juicing carrots on the box?!) Have been juicing for the better part of a year by blending and pushing small amounts through a mesh strainer with a spoon. This process works but is ridiculously time consuming and a good way to get arthritis. I cry a little when I see commercials with people complaining about cleaning their juicer.
Lin Gorenkoff says
