A Look At The Best Vegan Protein Powders
Over the last few years there has been an increase in the number of Protein Powders available to those of us who follow a Vegan diet. Many of the products you can find from online health stores are just another example of large companies trying to cash in on the latest food trend. Thankfully there are a few supplement companies out there who have the respect for their customers which ensures they do all they can to produce something which lives up to our expectations.
Having been a vegan for the last decade, as well as a keen weight lifter and martial arts student, I’ve tried my fair share of vegetarian protein powders in my time. Most of the products I’ve tried were of a pretty good quality but it’s rare to find one which offers the muscle building powers our meat and dairy devouring friends seem to attain. Here are the two gluten-free options I recommend for strength and bulk vegetarian style:
1. Garden of Life Raw Protein – When I first discovered this product in an online store I was amazed at the quality of the ingredients considering it’s very reasonable cost. The Protein Powder source for it is a wide variety of sprouted grains, legumes and seeds which promise to make it much more bioavailable compared to much of the competition. It also contains a few other health promoting ingredients such as chlorella and enzymes which make this a well rounded choice.
The only negative about garden of life is that it doesn’t taste great. While I can blend it up with a banana or two and hardly notice the bland flavor, I’ve heard many people say it’s almost inedible to them. If flavor is important to you then you need to try Sunwarrior instead.
2. Sunwarrior Rice Protein Powder – This is my all time favorite Vegan Protein Powder supplement. It’s made from wholegrain brown rice which has been sprouted and processed at a very low temperature to create another raw product. I don’t know how they have done it but for me Sunwarrior is equal to whey protein when it comes to building muscle.
Other advantages to this product are the fact it blends great with any liquid and tastes fantastic, just try out their chocolate flavor and you’ll see what I mean 🙂
Gone are the days when the vegan body builder and fitness fanatic had to settle for second best when it comes to peak performance. Pick up one of these products today and see if they have the same positive effect on your athletic ability as they did mine.

Right now I am using Vega, but the taste is “eh.” I’ll give the ones you mentioned a try.
