PMD: Personal Microdermabrasion Devise Review

I was contacted to do a review for the Personal Microdermabrasion devise called PMD for short. I love getting facials. I usually get them every few months so I thought I’d really save some money if I was able to do this myself at home. It came very well packaged.
It came with an instructional DVD and with white, blue and green exfoliating discs. It had the white one already installed, and the white one was for training use…to get the feel of how it move it. You pull your skin tight, then the tool works by creating a gentle vacuum suction effect, pulling the skin to touch the surface of the exfoliating disc. Use the white disc for as long as it takes to make sure you are perfectly comfortable with it before your progress onto using the actual exfoliating discs which are green and blue. The blue discs are for sensitive skin like your face and neck. The green discs are for other areas such as arms, hands and legs. They have some great before and after photos on their site.
I also recommend watching the video that I have embedded below. It shows you exactly how to use this devise. The main thing to remember is that you need to keep the tool/disc moving at all times on your skin. If you stop you could rub off skin causing scabbing.
The PMD minimizes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by promoting new collagen growth for softer, new skin. It also helps to diminish hyper pigmentation and age spots which I have a lot of. It is suggested to use it weekly. I am not good at keeping a regular schedule but I would think that any use would help. It also helps combat blemishes which I sure could have used help with I was younger. You can learn more about PMD by checking at any of their social media sites: Pinterest & YouTube.
Here is the video about how to use it:

This looks really neat. I haven’t tried one before but I think it would be great and leave my skin feeling so much better. Thanks for the great review.

I think that anyone could benefit from microdermabrasion. I personally would love to use this device since my skin is rough and uneven and I know it would be smooth as a babies bottom after using the PMD

I’ve been toying with the idea of getting one of these. I was wondering if the effects were worth the cost, but it sounds like you’re having good results with it.

I would like to try using it. It sounds a little frightening, though. Knowing my I would get distracted and take unwanted layers of skin off excessively. (I always cut myself shaving).

Thanks for the review, I’ve been interested in PMD for awhile now and really considering purchasing one. I like that it comes with a “practice disc” a big part of the reason I dont already own one is because I was afraid of doing damage to my skin due to inexperience. I feel a lot better knowing I could get the feel of it first.
Colleen says
I agree Crystal! I wouldn’t want to mess with my face without being able to use a “practice disc”!

I am addicted to any over the counter type anti aging products or devices I can possibly try, and maybe I’d be ok with this device if I only used the blue sensitive skin disc, I don’t know, but I am afraid to try microdermabrasion anything because I can’t even use any of the over the counter gentle exfoliating lotions or cleansers because they irritate my skin too badly and make it look and feel worse not better. Unfortunately for me, because I know exfoliation does help with anti aging and at 45 I REALLY REALLY care about such things.

I’d like to try one. I’ve thought about picking one up for a while.

I would love to try something like this! I’ve always had no so great skin, according to myself but not others. Anyway if this could make me look and feel better to my eye that would be great!

I would love something like this. I will be turning 31 next month, and it seems I look in the mirror and see things I did not see 5 years ago!! Something for me to keep in mind….

As an older woman (67 years old) I try to take good care of my skin — since I can’t afford facials etc this devise would be great for me. I will start saving for one.

I am 51 and my skin is beginning to show my age. I was contemplating laser resurfacing but PMD could well be the answer I’ve been searching for! Thanks for posting this!

I would love to have this. I am 55 and can’t afford the facials either and certainly would not use a razor. That is crazy. Can you imagine the razor burns or nicks and cuts you would get. ouchie.. Sure would love to be able to afford one of these.. 🙂

I would love to have a PMD. I don’t get facials because I can’t afford them. This would really be great for me.

I do not have a micro-derm abrasion device, but would love to have the one reviewed above. I am 57 and clearly my skin has aged. This procedure would benefit me greatly. My girlfriend claims that she does not need these expensive devices or procedures. She is an RN and she simply abrades her skin with a disposable razor and believes she gets the same effect. It is said that men stay young vis-a-vis their skin compared to women of the same age. The rationale is that they shave every day allowing their skin to be naturally abraded.
Colleen says
OMG Cole Marie! I am a retired RN and the thought of abrading my skin with a disposable razor sends chills up/down my spine! I wouldn’t compare men with women on this..my goodness they have hair on their face! I can’t say shaving my legs has made them any more smooth! Try something more gentle than a razor!

I would love to have this. I maybe only 26 but I have put my skin through a lot with medications for acne and having 2nd degree burns from the sun when I was 15. It would be nice to finally have even skin again and shrink my pores. I use those vibrating things from the stores (like clean and clean) and as they do help with black heads and all, it does not with my uneven scarred skin.
