A fun memory about this summer was swimming in my mom’s pool.

My bahroom pipes leaked last month because the family below my apartment knocked on my door before 11 pm to ask me if I had some flooding going on. I had just finished dinner and dessert as I came home late. I called the superintendent to take a look and also to check on my neighbour downstairs. Her bathroom had water coming out of the vent as an overflow from the bursted pipes. The landlord came the next day and the plumbers the day after that to change the pipes. It was a nightmare to have water leaking throughout the night as the tenant below kept banging but, there wasn’t anything I could do. I stayed up the whole night to remove as much water as I could and to dry up the floor to prevent it from overflowing to the vents of the bathroom of the unit below me. A few years before this event, the toilet overflowed when it didn’t flush. I researched how to get rid of the blockage on the net and borrowed a plunger from a neighbour. From that experience, I kept rags or clothes that can be used to mop up the mess and thrown away. I also bought a plunger for emergency. I had enough rags to mop up the water when the pipes burst, though not enough to contain the flood. I left a basin to catch the leak so, it lessened the water on the floor that would overflow to the unit below. That was the most memorable event of my summer so far!

My fun memory is when all of my five grandchildren tell me what they did at the pool each time they go swimming. I just love all of their different stories of their day at the pool.

My kids are grown, but spending time with the grandkids are usually hilarious! Especially their comments.
