The Vegg Baking Mix & Cookbook Giveaway
I do eat Vegan off and on and know how hard it is to find a good egg substitute. I was given the opportunity to try Rocky’s Vegg Baking Mix along with their newly released The VEGG Cookbook, Egg Free Cooking Uncaged. One lucky reader is also going to get to 2 jars of the VEGG baking mix and receive The VEGG Cookbook courtesy of Rocky at the Vegg! One jar of the Vegg baking mix takes the place of 48 eggs!! The Vegg Baking Mix launched in early February. It is available in 7.0 oz cardboard cylinders, also available in bulk (25 pounds) You can order online from Rocky at the VEGG!
You can go here to see my recipe for Vegan Gluten Free Lemon Bars from The VEGG Cookbook using the Vegg baking mix. Anyone who wants to bake egg free should give this mix a shot! It has the smell of eggs and the viscosity of eggs along with the yellow color! I am anxious to make some vegan Challah bread using Rocky’s Vegg baking mix! Stay tuned for recipe!

I’ve used just about every egg replacer there is, but haven’t tried the vegg yet! Different ones work better in different applications.

Not yet, but when I start baking again I definitely want to try Vegg. Does it replace the whole egg or just the egg yolk?
Colleen says
Lydia, Yes it replaces the whole egg 🙂
Chelsea Ortiz says
I use flax usually and I’ve tried Ener-g egg.
AnnaZed says
I haven’t tried baking with a real formal egg substitute; though I have tons of vegan recipes (muffins particularly) where I use banana instead of egg and it works ok.

I have not used egg replacer in baking; but I really like adding the original Vegg to tofu omlets. I am looking forward to trying the Vegg Baking mix.
Colleen says
Hi Charj! I would never have thought to add Vegg to tofu..I bet that is yummy!
Catherine says
I’ve never used an egg substitute but having recently gone vegan I’m finding eggs to be one of the very few things I miss. Would love to get my hands on both the Vegg egg yolk replacement AND the baking replacer (no one carries it yet where I live, but I’ve been sending various shops the weblink to the Vegg homepage hahaha)
Colleen says
Catherine, keep hounding the shops! But you can buy it online on Rocky’s site.
Erica Heller says
I use flax and water a lot, and it works great. And I use Vegg when I have it; not many stores around me carry it.
Colleen says
Erica, that’s my problem too. I am just ordering all online now for my special diet needs:)
Anushka says
I made some gingerbread over the xmas holidays, using EnerG egg replacer. It was really good. I’ve also tried french toast with the first Vegg version. Would be interested in trying it with the new improved version when it comes out.
Colleen says
Anushka, glad to hear comments on the Vegg! Thanks
Jen S. says
I’ve never tried cooking with egg substitutes other than scrambled eggs. Baking has never been my forte but learning how to bake and healthier eating (ironic, huh?!) were two of my 2014 resolutions.
Colleen says
Jen, 2014 has just begun! It’s still a great resolution to learn healthier eating!!
