If you or someone you know has been diagnosed with cancer, you might be wondering what types of foods you can include in your or their diet to fight against cancer! Receiving a cancer diagnose can be devastating but if you’re prepared to fight and want to keep your diet up to par and your body healthy enough to fight, these foods to fight against cancer are great options!
Garlic.
Although it’s unknown how much needs to be ingested to prevent cancer, including garlic in your diet can help prevent cancer cells from multiplying, as well as keep the cancer-causing substances in your body at bay! Whether you decide to try raw garlic or just resolve to include more in your cooking, this is one of the easiest foods to fight against cancer that you can include in your diet!
Eat your greens!
Leafy greens are a great way to pump your body full of antioxidants and a healthy way to fuel your body. It can also help with keeping your strength levels up if you’re going through chemotherapy or radiation. While some things like your taste might change during treatment, it’s good to try and include vegetables still if you can. Consider putting some kale or spinach (or both!) in a smoothie in the mornings if you’re struggling with the taste. They’re very easily masked in smoothies.
Berries.
Berries are a great source of nutrition providing both high levels of antioxidants, and a good tasting snack! Antioxidants halts the process of free radicals that can damage cells and aid in the growth of cancer cells, so including lots of antioxidant rich foods in your diet is essential.
Flaxseed.
This is one of the easier foods that fight against cancer to include in your diet as well. Flaxseed can be put in smoothies, on salads, or taken by capsule! It doesn’t have much of a flavor so it’s pretty easy to throw in with things and it’s a great source of energy to help get you through the day as well!
Tomatoes.
Tomatoes are another food that is packed full of antioxidants, helping your body fight and prevent cancer! It’s easy enough to add tomatoes in your diet at least once a day and they’re very low calorie as well!
Lastly, hydrate.
Of course this isn’t one of the foods that fight against cancer but it’s EXTREMELY important to keep yourself hydrated in general, but also if you’re going through any kind of cancer treatment. Try to avoid sugary drinks that can undo progress and aid in the growth of cancer cells. Water is your best bet!
Ultimately, there are many things you can do to prevent and help fight cancer but cleaning up your diet is one of the most beneficial things you can do to help your body!

Wish I could use most of those items but the only one I can use is flaxseed oil. I’m on renal diet and anything that is good for you is against the rules.

Flaxseed has been such a great addition to my diet. My skin has been much less dry and I know it’s added to my protein and fiber requirement, two things I struggles getting enough of.
