How to Take a Clean Eating Cleanse
Do you feel like you need to do a clean eating cleanse before you begin you clean, whole, plant based eating? It can’t hurt to detox from all of the unnecessary food additives and extra ingredients that you eat on a regular basis. Here are some ideas on how to take a clean eating cleanse. You can begin as simply as 1 – 5 days.
Cut out any beverages besides water. If you drink beverages like soda, sweetened teas, lemonade or fruit juice, you’ll want to avoid them for the duration of your cleanse. They contain sugar, sodium, and other additives that you’ll want to avoid. While coffee or tea is fine by itself, remember that creamer can be full of all types of additives. Consider switching to a milk alternative. Dairy just isn’t good for your body. The old saying milk does a body good isn’t true.
Bulk up on fresh produce. You should aim to eat more fruits and vegetables than anything else. They are full of nutrients but free of any food additives. Look for ways to swap your favorite recipes with vegetables, such as opting for zucchini or rice noodles instead of regular spaghetti noodles. Instead of having your morning Starbucks, consider making homemade smoothies.
Stay away from processed foods. You’ll want to ditch your Pop-Tarts and boxed mac ‘n cheese while you’re cleansing and going clean. Avoid anything that contains ingredients that you don’t know how to pronounce or that implies there’s unnecessary food additives.
