Colorado State University’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital is evaluating a cannabis extract for pets. Researchers are looking at the potential benefits of CBD oil or cannabidiol for animals. So far, they have found that it may help pets who suffer from seizures or anxiety, but the study is not finished. The hospital is in the process of doing clinical trials to see if CBD can help dogs with arthritis and epilepsy.

In rare cases, they have reported dogs vomiting after using the oil.  My dogs have had no problems taking the CBD oil and have never vomited after its use.
