These Vegetable Keepers are part of the Good Cook ProFreshionals brand and are meant to store your fruits and vegetables. Their transparent lids make it easy to see inside the container and their shapes…well they are fun and easy to spot in the refrigerator.
The Melon Keeper is large enough and cute enough to be used as a serving bowl for summer picnics. You could serve fruit salad, potato salad or even a pudding in it and easily keep it stored nicely with the accompanying lid until you were ready to serve it. So don’t feel limited to store just the food that it represents!
I just love the asparagus Food Keepers upright position. The keeper works so well keeping the asparagus protected and it has vents at the top of the lid. All the keepers are made of hard plastic, BPA FREE and dishwasher safe.
I grew up in Oregon where asparagus grows like a weed in the fields and along ditches. We eat a lot of asparagus at our home and I am always having to take out a small plastic container to store them in water.
Food Keeper tip: Asparagus ends should be snapped off and kept in a few inches of water. The point at which it snaps leaves the upper part tender. I don’t use the snapped off part, it is hard and very fibrous. I suppose you could use it for soups.

These are so cute. I have a half tomato and half onion containers that hang on the shelf inside the door of the fridge, but I would really use the asparagus keeper.
