Gluten-Free Goes Gourmet
Review
I was contacted and sent Gluten-Free Goes Gourmetby Author, Vicky Pearl, to review. All comments and thoughts are my own, no other compensation was received.
I am thrilled to bring to the attention of my readers a fabulous NEW Gourmet Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Corn Free, Low Glycemic and Kosher cookbook that is now in my top 5 cookbooks! With my German heritage, the Gluten-Free Goes Gourmet has recipes for Kreplach, Kugel, Knaidlach, Blintz and more…..ALL Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free and Kosher which I am thrilled with. I can hardly wait to make the recipe for Oat Challah Bread!
Gluten-Free Goes Gourmet isn’t just about baking! There are fabulous recipes for salads, soups and entree’s using meat, poultry and fish. But I am getting ahead of myself.
Gluten-Free Goes Gourmet by Author, Vicky Pearl, is newly published August of 2013. Vicky is a Brooklyn-based nutrition coach who has been in practice for almost two decades. In her practice she found that many clients were helped with a gluten-free diet and working with her clients Vicky transferred the “why” into the “how” to eat gluten-free. She also found that many of her clients who were gluten intolerant could not tolerate dairy as well. So these recipes were designed to also be dairy-free. Thank You Vicky!
Vicky not only gives you great reproducible recipes, but talks about the different flours that are used in gluten-free cooking, which is very helpful. Then she talks about the various sweeteners and oils used in gluten-free baking and cooking. And a very useful section is Vicky’s comments on basic kitchen equipment. After reading the preface of this book you will be empowered to embark on creating your own fabulous foods and eating more healthful!
My favorite sentiment of Vicky’s is what she wants you to take away from her book. She captures the joy of life and cooking in her statement:
“This journey is meant to be beautiful and exciting. Beautiful in the sense that it is wonderful to feel as good as you can and to be the most healthful person you can be, and exciting how with the right tools and guidance, your story can be exhilaratingly successful.

This sounds like a great cookbook. My step-daughter is gluten-intolerant, and has asked for a new cookbook for Christmas so she may find this one under the tree.

She will be very happy with it! But she will have to buy their GF mixes which are fabulous!! I buy them online especially the chocolate cake and the regular GF flour mix.

since I’m newly celiac I’d definitely (DEFINITELY!!) be keeping it. I’ve been looking to get a good cookbook in the last two years since being diagnosed but just don’t know which to pick. I’d love to try this one out and hopefully it’d be my goto cookbook too!
