Yum, chocolate cake. I don’t think I’ve ever had gluten-free chocolate cake, I can’t wait to give this a try. Thank you for sharing this recipe.
will have to try this for a dinner party next week where only one of the guests if vegan…I wonder if anyone will notice it is vegan if I don’t tell them
I love chocolate, too! The recipe looks and sounds delicious. Have you ever tried it with an alternative sweetener? I’m always trying to substitute stevia or something for white sugar. Some things I’ve tried only seem to work good with real sugar, like cookies. But, it looks great and I love finding any gluten free chocolate recipe!
Love chocolate cake. I’ll have to try out this recipe.
This looks wonderful. I guess it’s hard to realize even baking can be vegan and gluten free
omg..this looks scrumptious!
I have been dying for chocolate cake, I think I have everything I need to make this tomorrow, thanks for sharing.
I didnt know you could use coconut oil as a sub for veg.margerine… awesome one more choice. I LIKE the pictures you included, or else I would have believed a chocolate cake possible but one that was flat and compounded as a frisbee. You can’t see a difference, yours looks like a fluffy piece of chocolate cake..now I believe in vegan chocolate.
This recipe looks yummy!I love chocolate, and can’t wait to try it.
This looks amazing!
This recipe looks delicious. It is so nice that there is so much you can still have and be gluten free.
i’ve never heard of xanthan before, i’ll have to look into that! Thank you Vicki

Seeing as we have a child on the family who is allergic to eggs this will be a nice receipe to fix for the holidays. It’s always hard to know what special treats to make him. Thanks!
I understand Sherrie. My grandson was just diagnosed with allergies to soy, milk, nuts, gluten and eggs. It’s going to be a challenge.
I love Chocolate Cake so am glad you shared this recipe! It looks so good and it’s nice to find a version that is Gluten Free and Vegan! Yippee!

These Eggless Cakes are becoming more and more popular. Thank you. Jerri Davis
Oh my gosh this looks great! We are always looking for new recipes. This is added to the list! thank you.
this looks so yummy!!!
Who doesn’t love chocolate cake?!
Where can you buy xanth..whatever it is, lol I never heard of that before but I’m sure it’s because I never read ingredient labels. It does look like an easy recipe 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
Jan,
Xanthum Gum is really needed…it helps replace the constancy of what the gluten would do making the crumb flakier and better.
I love chocolate and I am always looking for great and healthier options. Thanks for sharing. I am adding this to my recipes. 🙂
I want to make a chocolate homemade cake like this. I just wonder what is Xanthan Gum?
Sandy,
Xanthan Gum takes the place of gluten making the cake more spongy and flaky. Bob’s Red Mill makes it and its in with the flours and sugars area.
I have a friend who’s child is on a gluten free diet, and she was looking for a chocolate cake recipe for his birthday… I’m SO going to send her a link to this, it looks awesome!! I can’t wait for the party to try it!
Your vegan and gluten free chocolate cake is amazing. Gluten free has to be a change in lifestyle.
Thanks Jane!!
this recipe looks so good!!!!!!!!
Thank you for this! I am not vegan year round, but as an Orthodox Christian I often need vegan recipes for fasting times. I don’t do any soy whatsoever, and your recipes give me some viable alternatives to try!
Thanks Rebecca. I will be posting more types of recipes without soy because my grandson is allergic to gluten and soy and nuts!
I also love chocolate and maybe too much! This recipe looks quite simple to make and sounds oh so yummy!
this looks super yummy! might just have to give it a try.
Wow,looks really good!
This looks so yummy. I think I will be trying it out for Thanksgiving.
Debbie how did it turn out?
It is surprising that cake can even be made vegan this one sounds delicious though.
Great recipe…love chocolate and this recipe looks soo easy to make and good for you too!! thank you
wow… this looks like such an easy recipe. Definatly going to share with my sisters.
Wow.. that is actually something I could do. My sister is gluten free and a vegetarian but she has a lot of allergies. This is something I could make her and she would be in heaven. It looks so yummy! 🙂 Thanks for the recipe
Hope she likes it 🙂
this sounds like a very simple chocolate cake. Looks very good. My autistic son has been on a gluten free diet for years. always looking for a new recipe to try on him! thank you for sharing. 😀
This cake looks so good. It’s nice to find something decadent without all of the bad things in it.
It sure is Susan!
This looks wonderful! I’m veg and not GF but I have friends who are and it’s sometimes a struggle to find dessert recipes that work for everyone and still taste good (that last part is particularly important)! I’ll be trying this in the future!
Yum this looks so good! I have all of the ingredients for these and I’ve been craving chocolate all day! Thank you so much for posting this recipe. Off to my kitchen I go, to make this cake!!! =)
Lindsay Lee how did it turn out?
Oh Yum! I’m excited to try this! What brand/type of flour do you use for this recipe? I have found that certain recipes are better with King Arthur’s GF all-purpose vs Bob’s Red Mill vs. Pamela’s etc…
If at all possible I use products from The Pure Pantry. All her mixes and all purpose blend are fabulous.
IM NOT VEGAN BUT LOOKING FORWARD TO TRYING THE CHOCOLATE CAKE RECEIPE
This sounds really good…just have to find the right kind of flour (we put our granddaughter on a gf diet to the find out we were harming her more as many of the things use Soy as an ingredient…she has a severe soy allergy)
Jackie,
My favorite flour is by The Pure Pantry…available in the lower 48 but up here in Alaska I have to order from her site. She uses brown rice, sorghum, quinoa flours and potato starch. Guaranteed gluten, dairy, soy, nut and egg free…and no refined sugar.
Thanks for sharing this recipe … we’re always on the lookout for good ones that we can make for when my brother is visiting! Pinning!
Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful recipe with all of us, yum!! it looks so good, can’t wait to try this 😉
looks good to me, I have never had a cake like this with no egg and gluten free, worth a try though

Yummy! That looks so good! I LOVE Gluten-free recipes! Thank you so much for this, i’m going to be making this tonight!
Thanks for all of the deals, giveaways, and the recipes that you post. I want you to know that someone out here REALLY appreciates what your doing for everyone! 🙂
Thank you so much Mary for letting me know 🙂
This sounds really good! I have been thinking for last 6 months or so that I want to go vegetarian, I don’t think I am ready to be vegan…but it’s a new journey for me….I haven’t given up meat all together yet, but I am certainly on my way
Good for your health Regina!
Where do you find Xanthan Gum and does that take place of the egg to hold it together?
Hi Becky, Xanthan Gum is in with flours. Bob’s Red Mill makes it and it doesn’t take the place of eggs. You could use Guar Gum instead of Xanthan Gum. If you leave it out the bread is not as flaky and tender.
I want to make this and see if everyone loves it as a “normally” made cake. Looks so good and much healthier
This sounds yummy! I’ll have to bake it.
I am not vegan, Ive never really looked into any recipes but this looks amazing! I may have to try this 😀 Thank you 😀
Yummy! I have 2 granddaughters who are eating gluten-free so I want to make this recipe for them. We love to have a little something for our tea parties!
Thank you for this recipe. I have a couple of good friends who are gluten-free and it’s nice to have some gluten-free recipes in my arsenal for whenever they happen to be over.
I love chocolate too and this sounds absolutely scrumptious
This looks really good.
