Plan Your Next Relaxing Holiday At The Caribbean
Our family loves to vacation in sunny Caribbean places. For one of our vacations we stayed on Bonaire which is an island that is ringed by a coral reef that is easily accessible from the shore along the western and southern sides. You can actually just walk into the ocean and be on the reef! It was great snorkeling and diving! The entire coastline of the island has been declared a marine sanctuary, preserving local fish life. But lets talk more about the Caribbean.
The Caribbean consists of more than seven hundred tropical islands, each of which features stunning sandy beaches, warm weather and rich culture. Caribbean holidays have become pretty much synonymous with blissful relaxation; as such, they are perfect for those who want to unwind and get away from the stress of daily responsibilities. Here are some of the most popular destinations in the Caribbean that are just waiting to be discovered.
Jamaica
The island of Jamaica is famous for its beautiful white sandy beaches and vibrant Rastafarian culture. The interior of this enchanting island features cascading waterfalls, beautiful mountains and dense jungle, while beaches can be found all around the coast. Among Jamaica’s most popular attractions ate the Hope Botanical Gardens and Zoo, National Gallery, the 19th century Devon House and a bronze statue of Bob Marley, which can be found in the city of Kingston.
Barbados
This is the most easterly of the Caribbean islands and is actually an enormous coral reef that was formed more than a million years ago. The island is twenty miles long and features several gorgeous stretches of sand for visitors to spread out on. a large number of exciting attractions can be found in the capital of Bridgetown, while daytrips from Bridgetown offer visitors the chance to explore natural attractions such as enchanting caves, wildlife preserves and traditional fishing villages.
Aruba
This vibrant island features enchanting white sandy beaches that are lined with luxurious resorts, casinos and boutiques. People who have a strong sense of adventure are sure to enjoy exploring Aruba’s rugged interior and four wheel drive tours take visitors through areas of stunning natural beauty such as Arikok National Park, while the capital Oranjestad boasts a beautiful harbour as well as a Dutch colonial feel. Other leading attractions in Aruba include Fort Zoutman, the Numismatic Museum and a cas de torto, which is a mud hut that holds the distinction of being the oldest house in Aruba and offers an interesting insight into the island’s history and culture.
Of course, this is just a small selection of the Caribbean’s impressive destinations. This entire area boasts intense natural beauty and nature lovers are sure to be in their element as they explore. However, people who simply want to unwind for a while will also be able to enjoy plenty of pampering during their Caribbean holiday.
