Explore the Coppermine Ruins

The first settler of the area are from Cornwall, England and they were the one who set up the copper mining industry which flourished in the 1800s. Around 130 Cornish laborers together with their families lived in the area. Numerous ruins can be found here like the housing area and the operations center, mine shafts, cisterns, powerhouse, engine house and even the chimney are can be seen scattered across the slopes. The mining industry has been closed in 1862 but the ruins are still visible up to date and the area was declared as a national park. The restoration efforts for the Coppermine ruins started in 1998, the early stage in stabilizing the ruins which commence with the engine house.
